Technical Support Specialist (1st / 2nd Line)
12-Month Fixed Term Contract | Stoke | Hybrid (3 days onsite)

We’re hiring a Technical Support Specialist to join a busy IT function supporting a large, operational business environment in Stoke. This is a great opportunity for someone with 1st/2nd line experience who wants to broaden their exposure across systems, users, and projects.
The Role
You’ll be a key part of the IT support team, ensuring users stay productive and systems run smoothly. Responsibilities include:
- Providing 1st and 2nd line support across desktop, mobile, and applications
- Acting as a first point of contact for IT issues, managing tickets through to resolution
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Supporting user accounts, access, and system configurations
- Assisting with patching, updates, and routine maintenance
- Escalating complex issues where required
- Contributing to IT projects such as upgrades, deployments, and system improvements
- Maintaining documentation, system checks, and backup processes
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a 1st or 2nd line support role
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good understanding of desktop, mobile, and basic networking environments
- Experience with IT ticketing systems and SLA-driven support
- Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and get involved in projects
