Technical Finance Business Partner – (Hybrid | Derby) – MATERNITY LEAVE COVER

We are currently supporting a leading global organisation within the aerospace sector to appoint a Technical Finance Business Partner to join their Civil Aerospace Finance team on a maternity leave cover.

It’s an exciting opportunity within a high-performing Civil Aerospace Finance team, with a strong focus on technical accounting, governance, and external audit coordination.

You will work closely with the Head of Technical Finance and key stakeholders across Finance, Group functions, and external auditors to ensure robust financial control and reporting standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as a subject matter expert on technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal finance policies
• Partnering with the business to assess complex accounting judgements and provide clear technical guidance
• Supporting and coordinating the external audit process, working closely with auditors and key stakeholders
• Producing high-quality audit issue papers and presenting findings to senior governance forums
• Leading quarterly balance sheet reviews and supporting financial governance and risk mitigation activities
• Driving accuracy and integrity in financial reporting through strong stewardship and challenge
• Providing financial assurance on investments, customer bids, and procurement contracts
• Playing a key role within the Finance Control leadership team, supporting consistency, efficiency, and best practice

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong IFRS knowledge and technical accounting experience
• External audit background is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, FX, and statutory accounting treatment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to simplify complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights
• Strong problem-solving ability with sound judgement in ambiguous situations
• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong influencing skills with a collaborative approach

What’s on offer:

• Hybrid model – up to 3 days per week on site in Derby (Tuesday–Thursday). Additional on-site presence may be required during half-year and year-end periods.
• Maternity leave cover – Up to 12 months contract
• Start date: Mid-May (handover period required)
• Day Rate: Umbrella: up to £651 per day or PAYE: up to £473.63 per day
• No travel expected
