Adhere to the agreed standards of safety, quality and reliability, to meet the units service requirements and meet safety, quality and productivity targets.Key AccountabilitiesLoading and Unloading activities Engineering Trains and Road Vehicles.To work in conjunction with the Engineering Vehicle Operations – Logistics and MaintenanceWorking as part of a team engaged in Loading and Unloading of Vehicles on both loading Bays at Ruislip Depot and On-siteCarry out on site operation of Engineering Vehicles Rail Borne plant.Carry out on-site operation of Long Welded Rail Train – End Loading Unit – ELKs – Cranes.Loading, unloading of all Engineering Vehicles around the combine.Undertake Site Person In Charge (SPC) duties including loading and unload vehicles from any location required on the LU NetworkTo operate manual handling equipment and (WAH) working at heights on-site and at Ruislip DepotTo actively liaise with the Loading Chargehands and EV logistics Manager to ensure that all loading activity is performed to the agreed standard Loading and unloading carried out to the required standards of safety, quality and reliability, service requirementsSkillsSkills, Knowledge & Experience Practical skills associated with loading and unloadingGood communication skills to communicate effectively with other team members and managementAble to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions and recommend appropriate action to suit site conditionAble to correctly identify vehicles and their usesDemonstrate understanding of responsibilities concerning rules, regulations, documentation and procedures and able to apply theseAble to operate Teleporter, Forklift if applicable for shiftKnowledge Thorough knowledge of all Engineering Vehicle rolling stock and safety proceduresKnowledge of rolling stock safety proceduresKnowledge of Railway InfrastructuresThorough knowledge of materials and equipment – identification, uses and safety factors to work with accordance with the Transplant Loading Manual (R0904)Competent as Banks-man / SlingerKnowledge of load of Engineering Vehicles, gauging and tare specifications.BTA (Basic Track awareness)IWA (Individual working alone)Safety critical licenceExperienceCurrently hold or have held a bankmans/slinger certification (Essential)Currently hold or have held a fork lift driving license (Essential)Currently hold or have held a railway track certification (Essential)Experience working in and around heavy machinery (Essential)Experience working within possessions/specified areas (Engineering vehicles).Application Process Please apply using your CV onlyThink carefully about the skills, knowledge and experience in the advert and cover this in your CVPDF format preferred and do not include any photographs or imagesThis is a safety critical role, so you will need to get clearance from our Occupational Health team before you start.The closing date for applications is Friday 22nd May 11:59pm.
