Staff Accountant- Contract Full Time NEW

• Conversion Salary Range: ~$70–$80k

Must-Have Qualifications

• Nonprofit industry experience (required)
• Experience with Sage Intacct
• Full-cycle accounting capabilities (AP, AR, GL, JE posting, bank reconciliations)
• Experience managing fixed assets
• Grants knowledge
• Strong communication and ability to operate independently
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with AI tools or automations
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Prior success in contract/consulting roles

Role Overview

This accountant will play a key role on a finance team of ~20 professionals. The role supports full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, month-end close tasks, and asset management. The organization is undergoing a restructure, and the individual stepping into this role will help stabilize and support updated processes and workflows.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 4+ years of nonprofit accounting experience
• Strong technical background in full-cycle accounting
• Confident communicator who thrives in collaborative environments
• Ability to quickly adapt and contribute in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting

Daily Responsibilities Include

• Process AP/AR transactions and prepare journal entries
• Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close
• Maintain and track fixed assets and depreciation schedules
• Assist senior accountants and leadership with reporting projects
• Support process improvements and organizational initiatives
