We currently have an exciting opportunity for a graduate level Scientist to join our R&D team to provide product R&D support activities through scientific experimentation and technology exploration. This role will be at the heart of the UK R&D team and your input and delivery of results will be instrumental in the achievement of key product and process innovations in both the UK and US. In this role you will support innovation development, and the development of technology portfolios for future business projects.
You should be excited about working in a fast-paced environment within a hard-working and welcoming team. You will be keen to develop your exposure of following protocols to accomplish goals, analysing data, evaluating results and forming conclusions, and using your technical writing skills to produce reports and impactful presentations of your results.
To be successful, you will be degree qualified in a physical science discipline, and whilst you would ideally bring some industry-based experience of working in a scientific environment, consideration will also be given to candidates without this. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a team. You will need to have good communication and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment. There will be opportunity to collaborate with quality, operations, regulatory, clinical and engineering functions in both the UK and the US.
In addition to a competitive salary, Abbott offers a highly attractive benefits package which includes a defined-contribution pension scheme, a share ownership scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, and a flexible benefits scheme which you can tailor to your own requirements. Of course, things are a little different right now, but in general, we like to help our employees live life to the fullest, and therefore we offer a range of optional initiatives for you to get involved in, including onsite allotments, couch to 5k campaigns, bee keeping, yoga and more!
