Job DescriptionThe OpportunityThe post holder will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Children, Young People and Education Directorate’s transformation plan; Helping Families Thrive. This will include influencing strategic decision making, delivering on project milestones, assessing and mitigating corporate risk, and presenting progress to senior stakeholders.The post holder will be responsible for delivering key projects within the transformation plan, to have accountability for delivering/supporting:Project governance and project(s) deliverySavings targetsEffective use of transformation investmentsOccasional ad hoc support for additional workThe post holder will work with the transformation team to ensure appropriate demand and growth management strategies are incorporated into the Children, Young People and Education improvement plan, and support the Council’s input into partnership work across health, social care and schools.Why Join UsOur teams consist of experienced professionals at various levelsThe team arrange regular meetings to ensure all colleagues have the support required to fulfil their duties, they will use this time to problem solve complex casesThe ethos at Croydon is very much about working together to make positive changeYou will join an established team who can help you settle in and offer their expertiseYou will have the support of an extremely knowledgeable and understanding managerWill have the opportunity to work from home and work flexibly which provides you with more of a work-life balance.About YouThe suitable applicant will have the following;Degree level or equivalent qualification / experience.Knowledge of project management and improvement methodologies concepts, principles and practices gained through extensive experience and developmentAbility to work with high level internal and external stakeholdersExperience in a children’s social care or education setting and up to date knowledge of main national policy drivers for children’s services.Experience of providing projects and workstreams within a dynamic and changing environment.Experience of programme and / or project managementExperience of modelling analysis and business case development.
