London Fire Brigade (LFB) is London’s fire and rescue service – one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. We are here to make London a safer city. Employing over 5000 people across our operational team (our firefighters), control (our call handlers who answer 999 calls), fire safety and our non-operational team (our team who work behind the scenes to support our front-line services, which includes Fleet, IT, HR, Finance, Procurement, Communications team and many more).
An opportunity has arisen for the role of Administration Officer. You will be providing support to the Operational Improvement Department.
The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Department. The key role will be scheduling meetings on teams and in person. Attending meetings and provide timely and accurate recording of meetings. You will be dealing with all enquiries in relation to the Incident Monitoring Process Database in relation to the Operations Review Team (ORT). Working closely with Heads of Services, co-ordination of the development and production of documents. You will be required to work collaboratively with both internal clients (often with several different departments), and external clients.
The postholder will be required to produce detailed written work while working to tight deadlines and therefore good communication, prioritisation and organisational skills are essential. Maintain managements processes and systems that provide for clear and understandable management information, working co-operative with colleagues to provide updates and support.
To be successful you will have good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships at all levels across the brigade, and with external stakeholders.
The postholder may be required to work from other brigade premises from time to time.

Assessment Overview
Stage 1

1. Experience of assisting in the co-ordination and management of work streams in order to achieve organisational objectives.
2. Experience in the use of a range of information technology applications and developing and maintaining management information systems including Office 365 – MS Teams, and other associated applications.
3. The ability to manage workloads and to prioritise effectively and to identify and address changing and conflicting priorities whilst meeting deadlines.
4. Good written and communication skills to draft reports, correspondence, policy and notes of meetings.
