The Role
We’re looking for a motivated and organised On‑Call Support Officer to join our On‑Call Support Team. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting recruitment, administration, development activities, and service improvement across the On‑Call duty system.

About the Role

As an On‑Call Support Officer, you will help coordinate the day‑to‑day operations of the On‑Call Support Team while actively supporting recruitment campaigns, new entrant development, and employer engagement. You’ll play a key part in strengthening the Service’s On‑Call arrangements and ensuring smooth communication between HR, divisional teams, and candidates.

What You’ll Do

• Support On‑Call recruitment campaigns and deliver targeted recruitment activities.
• Assist with Point of Entry Testing Days and coordinate development activities for new entrants.
• Provide high‑quality administrative support, including managing the team inbox and producing meeting notes.
• Maintain the On‑Call Insight page and ensure accurate updates.
• Train personnel on the OARS system and help ensure data accuracy.
• Build positive relationships with employers and promote the value of On‑Call Firefighters.
• Support the delivery of On‑Call service improvements and internal communications.
• Uphold Health & Safety and safeguarding responsibilities across all aspects of the role.
