Educational Teaching Assistant (initially to be based in Reception)
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant (ETA) to join our team at Norristhorpe J&I School in September 2026, following the well‑earned retirement of an excellent and much‑valued practitioner.
This is a permanent, full‑time position (28.5 hours per week), working 9.00am to 3.30pm, with an hour for lunch. There is also one additional paid hour allocated each week for meetings and paperwork.
The successful candidate will be passionate about early years education and committed to giving our pupils the very best start to their Norristhorpe learning journey. You will work closely with the Reception team to support high‑quality learning experiences that nurture curiosity, confidence and independence. You will have high expectations for all children and be prepared to go the extra mile to ensure every child receives the very best care and support.
You will be joining an established team of excellent, forward‑thinking practitioners who are supportive, reflective and committed to continuous improvement. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a warm, inclusive school community where children are truly at the heart of everything we do.
Our school was last inspected in May 2024, and we were delighted to receive Outstanding judgements for Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, and Leadership and Management. These outcomes reflect our deeply embedded culture of care, aspiration and excellence.
We are incredibly proud of our pupils, who are kind, capable, enthusiastic and a joy to work with. This role offers a wonderful opportunity to join Team Norristhorpe as an integral and highly valued member of our school family.
