Job DescriptionGlobal Merchant & Network Services brings together American Express’ merchant and network-related businesses. This includes the management of our relationships across the globe with both the millions of merchants who accept American Express, as well as our partners in countries and territories that deliver card acceptance, issuance and innovation.Global Merchant Services (GMS) Marketing is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMS Marketing is responsible for partnering with GMS markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate coverage and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to merchants and Card Members at scale. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.This role will have significant exposure, directly supporting the Chief of staff (Strategic Planning Manager) for the Head of International Merchant marketing by improving our controls, processes and ensuring we are compliant across all our initiatives internationally. The role is ideal for someone with the ability to establish collaborative relationships across different teams and geographies, have a process-driven mindset and communicate clearly across variety of operational requirements.ResponsibilitiesPartner with the Strategic Planning Manager to proactively build and execute comprehensive operational excellence processes across International Merchant Marketing.Collaborate with Control Management to lead the delivery and upkeep of our Risk & Control Self Assessments (RCSA’s).Support the International Marketing team on guidance and coordination related to issues, controls & TLM.Work with Central Business Operations functions to coordinate and complete BU – wide initiatives. Drive the education of the team to ensure up to date knowledge on control management needs.QualificationsUnderstanding Marketing practices, further understanding of operational processes and best practices is beneficialKey understanding of risk and process in large organizationsExperience in process improvement or project managementExperience in operational risk is preferentialExcellent communication skills.
