About The Role

Our OEM client based in Gaydon is seeking a highly skilled Senior UI & Animation Designer (Production) to join their dynamic team on a contract basis, inside IR35. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on some of the most desirable automotive brands in the world, contributing to innovative human-machine interface (HMI) designs that define the future of automotive technology. The position is initially contracted until 31st March 2027, with an umbrella pay rate of £33.64 per hour. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for translating creative concepts into pixel-perfect UI components, ensuring they meet complex specifications and brand standards. Your expertise will help shape engaging, intuitive, and visually compelling user experiences that align with the company’s vision and technical requirements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in UI and animation design within the automotive or digital product sectors. Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects is essential. Experience working with design systems and actively contributing to their evolution is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of UX principles, brand guidelines, and design consistency. A portfolio showcasing previous work in UI animation, complex HMI design, and user-centric interfaces will be required. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams are also important.

Responsibilities

As a Senior UI & Animation Designer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Interpreting creative briefs and translating them into detailed UI components that are both visually appealing and functionally effective.
• Collaborating closely with UX and UI teams to ensure design fidelity and consistency across all touchpoints.
• Designing and animating UI elements that bring interfaces to life, ensuring smooth transitions and engaging interactions.
• Maintaining pixel-perfect quality control in line with complex HMI specifications and technical constraints.
• Acting as a UI champion within the organization, promoting best practices and educating team members on design standards and principles.
• Contributing to the development and evolution of design systems, ensuring scalability and consistency across projects.
• Providing visual support and guidance during the development phase to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
• Staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance design quality.
