We have an exciting opportunity to join the RCT Fleet Services team as a Apprentice – Vehicle Technician.
Based at our fully equiped workshop in Treforest Industrial Estate, we are looking for reliable, enthusiastic, hardworking next generation of Vehicle Technicians to work on our diverse fleet of vehicles from small vans to Refuse Collection Vehicles.
Reporting to the Workshop chargehand you will be expected to assist Vehicle Technicans and learn and perfect skills for all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance including diagnostics. You will perform a key role within RCT to keep our vehicles on the move.
This apprenticeship is a 2 year initial term plus an additional 2 years with year 3 seeing a pay increase and allowing you to complete level 3. Year 4 will benefit from full Technicians rate in your improver year.
What Will You Study?
All Apprentices will be supported to complete a Level 3 qualification in Repair and Service of Heavy Vehicles, via a College.
What will you be paid?
This is a fixed term post for a two-year period, starting in September 2026.

Important Eligibility Information
Due to the Apprenticeship entry criteria, we are unable to accept applications from anyone who has already achieved a similar qualification at Level 3 or above in the subject area of the apprenticeship they are applying for.
For Example
If you hold a degree in Civil Engineering, you would not be eligible to apply for a Civil Engineering apprenticeship. However, you would still be welcome to apply for any other apprenticeship pathway.
Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered.
