Who We’re Looking For

Business Support aligned with Children’s Services plays a crucial role in underpinning the vital work carried out by our social care colleagues. This support helps them to protect and assist some of the borough’s most vulnerable children and families. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery and continuous development of high‑quality administrative services across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Skills

We are seeking an organised individual with strong communication and organisational skills. You will provide a wide range of business support duties, including:

• Accurate data entry (e.g. childcare placements, attendance records, multi‑agency reports)
• Using and updating the WCCIS database
• Communicating effectively with internal and external partners
• Providing excellent customer service, dealing with telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries from internal and external clients
• Confident use of Microsoft Office applications, which are essential to this role
• Demonstrating a commitment to gaining experience across all aspects of business support provided within the various service areas of Children’s Services

What Will You Study?

All Apprentices will be supported to complete a Level 3 in Business Administration.

What will you be paid?

This Is a Fixed Term Post For a Two-year Period, Starting In September 2026. You Will Be Paid National Minimum Wage Dependent On Age

• 21 & over £12.71
• 18 – 20 £10.85
• Under 18 £8.00

Important Eligibility Information

Due to the Apprenticeship entry criteria, we are unable to accept applications from anyone who has already achieved a similar qualification at Level 3 or above in the subject area of the apprenticeship they are applying for.

For Example

If you hold a degree in Civil Engineering, you would not be eligible to apply for a Civil Engineering apprenticeship. However, you would still be welcome to apply for any other apprenticeship pathway.

Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered.
