We’re looking for a proactive and customer‑focused individual to help deliver high‑quality financial services to our student community. In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing student accounts and supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of our financial operations.
You’ll work closely with student customers, academic departments, other University teams, and external organisations, helping to ensure accounts are accurate, queries are resolved efficiently, and services are delivered to a consistently high standard. The role also includes responsibility for day‑to‑day credit control across a portfolio of major accounts and/or a defined section of the student sales ledger.
This is a varied role that combines behind‑the‑scenes financial administration with direct student engagement. You’ll regularly meet with students through scheduled appointments at the Student Services Centre, working on a rota basis to provide clear, supportive guidance on financial matters.
If you enjoy balancing detailed administrative work with meaningful customer interaction—and want to contribute to a service that genuinely supports students—this could be an excellent opportunity.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high standard of numeracy, and strong attention to detail. You will be confident using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, able to manage your own workload independently, and prioritise effectively while also contributing positively as part of a wider team. The role requires the ability to liaise confidently with a broad range of internal and external colleagues, work calmly under pressure, and meet firm deadlines.
You will demonstrate discretion, empathy and sensitivity when dealing with students, alongside a clear understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. Experience of working with a computerised finance or accounting system—ideally Agresso—together with knowledge of tuition fee processes within the higher education sector, would be highly desirable, as would experience in credit control or accounts receivable. A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development is essential. Some evening and weekend working will be required during key university activities such as enrolment, and occasional travel to external events or conferences may also be necessary.
In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:
