An exciting opportunity has arisen within Speech and Language Therapy NHSGGC, for a temporary (6 month contract) maternity leave backfill Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, to work within the award winning New Stobhill ACH .
This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills within outpatients seeing a wide variety of adult acquired disorders both in person and virtually and to develop skills within stroke rehab and care of the elderly in patient settings.
You will be working within a great team of SLTs, Healthcare Support Workers and Administrative staff who are motivated to achieve the best possible outcomes for all clients/carers. We welcome applicants who are keen to participate in delivering innovative assessment and therapy approaches within the above settings to join our forward thinking, supportive Speech and Language Therapy team.
The Role
The Community Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy service provides pre-referral activity triage, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice, guidance and support for parents and families of children with a wide range of speech, language and/or communication needs including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Hearing Impairment, Phonological Disorders, Dysfluency, Additional Support Needs and Language Disorder. The service will be managed within the appropriate delegated general management structure in HSCPs, with overall responsibility lying with the Head of Children and Families Services who will also retain responsibility for SLT policy development. The provision of speech and language services to local Education Departments will be managed through Service Level Agreements that will be shaped and informed by the agreed NHS GGC SLT Service Specification and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

It is essential that you have a degree in Speech and Language Therapy with current HCPC registration and must be trained in the assessment and management of adult dysphagia. The successful candidate will be required to participate in our pioneering weekend working rota and have the opportunity to volunteer for our public holiday rota.
