The Role and the TeamAt Blue Light Card, we exist to make heroes happy, and that starts with truly understanding them.As a Senior Mixed Methods Researcher, you’ll play a key role in helping us do just that. Working within our growing research function, you’ll combine UX research and market insight to uncover what really matters to our members – from how they behave, to what they value, to where we can do better.You’ll partner closely with teams across Product, Design, Marketing and Data, helping shape decisions that impact millions of people who keep the country running. This is a role for someone who loves digging into complex questions, connecting the dots and turning insight into action. You’ll also help evolve how research works at Blue Light Card, raising the bar for how we generate and use insight across the business.What You’ll DoOwn research within key product and strategic areas, designing and delivering studies that answer meaningful business questionsUse a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods to build a deep understanding of member behaviour, needs and motivationsChoose the right research approach for each challenge, from interviews and usability testing to surveys, segmentation and market analysisTurn complex findings into clear, actionable insights that influence product, marketing and commercial decisionsBring insight to life through compelling storytelling that resonates with different audiences across the businessWork closely with cross-functional teams to ensure research informs priorities, roadmaps and member experiencesShare knowledge, frameworks and best practice to help teams use research more effectivelyContribute to growing and strengthening the research practice across Blue Light CardWhat You’ll BringStrong experience across both UX research and broader market or behavioural researchConfidence designing and running research studies independently using a range of methodsAbility to synthesise complex data into clear, practical insights that drive actionExperience working closely with product teams and influencing decisions through evidenceStrong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage different audiencesCuriosity and confidence to tackle complex, ambiguous problem spacesA collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for improving how research is used across teamsA genuine interest in understanding people and improving experiences for our membersOur CultureOur mission is simple – make heroes happy.
