Job OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technicians to join our team.We welcome applicants from community or other pharmacy sectors, and previous hospital experience is not essential.This is a Band 4/5 progression post, with Band 5 covering accredited checking (if not already achieved) and leadership development for those already holding ACT status.You will complete a comprehensive in-house competency programme, including supervisory and leadership training, to equip you with the skills needed for hands-on line management once competent.If you thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment, enjoy learning new skills and are motivated to improve patient experience, we would be delighted to hear from you.Main duties of the jobProvide excellent patient care for inpatients, outpatients and external units.Work with the EPIC electronic prescribing system and Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets to deliver an accurate, timely and cost-effective pharmacy service.Duties include accurate labelling, dispensing and checking of a wide range of prescriptions, including controlled drugs, clinical trials, TPN, chemotherapy, home IV therapies and palliative care medicines.Medicines management rotations will offer direct patient contact, including taking medication histories, medicines reconciliation, supporting safe and correct use of prescribed medicines and counselling patients on new treatments.
