Someone who has built relationships with journalists, is confident selling-in stories to the media and enjoys creating issue and policy influencing campaigns. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of three years consultancy experience and a track record of delivering effective work for clients.As an Account Manager, you will be a key member of the PLMR’s PR & Corporate Communications team – working directly with clients and journalists to run media campaigns. A deep understanding, passion and interest in the British media and UK political system as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience of the sectors PLMR operates in is beneficial.Key Responsibilities and DutiesDriving and implementing programmes of work for clients, including writing and distributing press releasesDeveloping news angles, stories and pitches to raise awareness of the client’s profile, products and servicesEstablishing, building and nurturing strong relationships with clients, key stakeholders, potential new business leads and media contacts (including journalists and industry spokespeople)Providing leadership on accounts – steering the account team to maintain excellent and trusted client relationships, ensuring that the client feels well serviced, able to call for advice at any time, and maximising the opportunities for account developmentWorking with the Account Directors to ensure that client accounts are run efficiently and to budgetClosely monitoring political and media developments in relevant sectors and consider how this impacts your clientsSupporting clients with your reputation management skillsManaging and mentoring junior members of staffBeing involved in identifying new business opportunities, pitching for new business and developing proposalsKey Skills and CompetenciesA minimum of three years experience in agency or in-house in communications and PRExcellent written, presentation and verbal communications skillsAn understanding and deep interest in the British media and political system. You will have started to build your network of journalists and have knowledge of editors across PLMR’s key sectorsAbility to work on multiple projects with challenging deadlinesA can-do attitude and a positive, supportive and engaging approach to workSalary: Competitive, plus a very attractive range of benefits.
