With 14 Ofsted-rated “Outstanding” schools, it’s a great place to live and work.Detailed Job Description And Main ResponsibilitiesWhat you will doTo be accountable for providing safe and efficient pharmaceutical services to all service users visiting the outpatient pharmacy department. To carry out clinical checks (screening) of all outpatient prescriptions, including oncology outpatients. To accuracy-check prescriptions before handout. To counsel patients on the safe and effective use of medicines. To provide advice to all customers. If you meet the essential criteria we are looking for then a member of our team will be in touch to discuss your application further.Person specificationQualifications/TrainingEssential criteriaUK Masters Degree in Pharmacy, or equivalent qualificationGeneral Pharmaceutical Council registration as a practising pharmacistDesirable criteriaFurther relevant post-registration qualificationsClinical Pharmacy DiplomaMember of the Royal Pharmaceutical SocietyPrevious or relevant experience necessaryEssential criteriaRelevant post registration experienceProven track record of providing excellent customer care in a community or hospital pharmacy environment.Evidence of working in a multidisciplinary teamUse good communication skills to liaise with a variety of other team members within UPL and across UHS.Sound knowledge of Pharmacy law, ethics and practiceAbility to generate new ideas and ways of working to support UPL’s strategy and objectivesExcellent general clinical and pharmacy practice knowledgeKnowledge of development pathways for pharmacy professionalsWilling and able to undertake continuing professional development to meet GPhC and role requirementsDesirable criteriaBoth community pharmacy and hospital pharmacy experience, including provision of clinical servicesExperience of stock controlExperience of using System C’s Careflow Medicines Management (CMM) pharmacy computer systemAbility to take initiative and lead on projects including change management and/or service improvementLine management experienceTraining and supervision experienceSpecialised knowledge of drugs used and therapeutic trends within a relevant specialised area (e.g. Oncology, ophthalmology)Knowledge of healthcare systems guidance and NHS change
