Business Development Manager

Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to generate new business opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and support the company’s growth strategy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and winning new accounts, developing long-term partnerships, and contributing to revenue and margin growth.

Key Responsibilities
* Identify, target, and win new business opportunities across agreed sectors and territories
* Build and manage a strong pipeline, progressing opportunities from prospect to conversion
* Conduct client meetings (face-to-face and virtual) to understand customer needs and present tailored solutions
* Prepare and deliver professional proposals, quotations, and presentations
* Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms in line with company objectives
* Work closely with internal teams (operations, procurement, customer service) to ensure smooth onboarding of new customers
* Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM systems
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities
* Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets, KPIs, and margin expectations

Skills & Experience Required
* Proven track record in business development or sales (B2B preferred)
* Strong negotiation and closing skills
* Ability to build relationships at all levels within an organisation
* Commercial awareness with a focus on margin and profitability
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Self-motivated, target-driven, and resilient
* Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
* Full UK driving licence
