Head of Marketing – Montezuma’s Chocolates (with Bristow’s of Devon)

As we enter an exciting new phase of growth across D2C and retail, we’re looking for a Head of Marketing who lives and breathes brand, understands modern social culture, and knows how to turn moments into momentum.
Alongside Montezuma’s, you will also support Bristow’s of Devon. With a history dating back to 1932, Bristows of Devon has been a cornerstone of the traditional confectionery market. Originally known for its classic Devon fudge, the company has expanded its product range to include a variety of sweets and toffees, all made using time-honoured recipes. Still based in the heart of Devon, Bristows blends heritage craftsmanship with modern tastes, maintaining its reputation as a trusted name in British confectionery. retail roots, ensuring consistency and quality across its marketing output.
The Role
This is a brand-first, socially-driven marketing role at the heart of Great British Confectionery Group.
You will be responsible for bringing Montezuma’s to life across social, D2C, and retail, ensuring everything we put into the world feels distinctive, relevant, and unmistakably us.
Alongside this, you’ll support Bristow’s of Devon across key campaigns and retail activity, helping elevate its presence while respecting its more traditional positioning.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on ideas, moves quickly, and cares deeply about how brands show up.
Key Responsibilities
Montezuma’s – Brand & Social
• Own and evolve Montezuma’s social presence across key platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and beyond)
• Create and deliver a content strategy that balances creativity, consistency, and commercial impact
• Spot and respond to cultural moments in a way that feels authentic to the brand
• Brief, create and/or oversee content (from reactive posts to larger campaigns)
• Manage community engagement, ensuring tone of voice is consistent, warm and distinctive
Montezuma’s – D2C & Digital
• Lead brand expression across D2C channels, including website, email, and social media
• Work closely with eCommerce to ensure a seamless and engaging customer journey
• Support campaign planning and execution to drive traffic, conversion, and retention
• Use insight and performance data to continually refine approach
Montezuma’s – Retail & Growth
• Support the marketing rollout for new store openings, ensuring strong local and national activation
• Help translate the brand into physical environments and in-store experiences
• Collaborate with retail teams to drive footfall, engagement, and brand consistency
Bristow’s of Devon – Brand Support
• Support campaign delivery and seasonal activity across retail and wholesale channels
• Ensure consistent and high-quality brand execution across touchpoints
• Work with commercial teams to support growth in core retail environments
Collaboration & Brand Stewardship
• Work closely with the Brand & Commercial Director to shape and deliver brand direction
• Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, retail, and product teams
• Act as a guardian of both brands, ensuring everything is cohesive, distinctive, and high quality
About You
