Head of Commercial Full Time

McBride Sport is proud to be partnering with Swim Wales to appoint a high-impact, commercially driven leader to the role of Head of Commercial. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial future of aquatics in Wales at an exciting time for the organisation, as it delivers its ambitious YMLAEN Strategy and works towards its long-term vision: “Aquatics For Everyone For Life.” Swim Wales is seeking a dynamic and experienced commercial leader to drive and evolve its revenue strategy across multiple established and emerging income streams. This includes sponsorship, education and training, software products, and aquatic awards. Building on strong commercial foundations developed over the past decade, the Head of Commercial will lead efforts to accelerate growth, enhance partnerships, and position Swim Wales as a leading brand within Welsh sport. Key responsibilities include:

Commercial Leadership

• Lead and manage all commercial activity across Swim Wales’ revenue streams
• Identify and develop new income opportunities alongside established products and services

Partnerships & Growth

• Develop and manage relationships with key partners including local authorities, leisure providers, NGBs, and private sector organisations
• Build strategic relationships with stakeholders including Sport Wales, Aquatics GB, UK Sport, and commercial sponsors

Collaboration & Influence

• Work cross-functionally to identify and deliver commercial opportunities across all business areas
• Support the Board and Commercial Committee with insight, risk management, and growth recommendations

Brand, Marketing & Communication

• Lead branding, communications, and digital marketing initiatives in partnership with internal teams
• Oversee the creation of high-quality corporate publications and commercial materials

We are looking for a commercially astute leader with the ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery:

• 7–10 years’ experience across sales, marketing, or business development (products and services)
• Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market share
• Strong experience in strategic planning, P&L management, and high-value negotiations
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement across complex environments
