Finance Assistant – Sales Ledger (Credit Control Focus)📍 Head Office, Eccles, Trafford, Greater Manchester💰 £30,000 per annumAbout The RoleWe’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team, focusing on sales ledger and credit control. This is a key role where you’ll help ensure strong cash flow, reduce aged debt and support the overall financial health of the organisation.Working closely with the Transactional Finance Manager, you’ll use your analytical skills to monitor income, resolve discrepancies and build positive relationships with customers and colleagues alike.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with data and making a real impact within a supportive finance team.What You’ll Be DoingManaging and improving credit control processes to reduce overdue debtContacting customers to resolve outstanding payments and queries professionallyAllocating incoming payments and maintaining accurate financial recordsPerforming detailed and sometimes complex account reconciliationsMonitoring and reporting on income, including forecastingProducing and issuing customer statements and supporting invoice processesInvestigating and resolving unallocated cash and discrepanciesCollaborating with internal teams to resolve billing issues quicklySupporting month-end and year-end processes and reportingMaintaining up-to-date customer records and documentationContributing ideas to improve processes and ways of workingWhat We’re Looking ForExperience & QualificationsAt least 2 years’ experience in a finance role, ideally with credit control exposureExperience with account reconciliations and income processesStudying towards (or completed) AAT Level 2 or equivalentExperience with accounting systems (Sage is a bonus)Skills & AttributesStrong Excel and Microsoft Office skillsExcellent organisation and time managementHigh attention to detail and accuracyConfident and professional communication skillsProactive approach with the ability to use initiativeAbility to build strong working relationshipsTrustworthy, discreet, and comfortable working independentlyWhy Join Us?Play a key role in driving financial performance and cash flowGain exposure to analysis, forecasting, and reportingBe part of a collaborative and supportive finance teamOpportunities to develop your skills and grow your careerA role where your ideas for improvement are genuinely valued
