Field/Contract Service Engineer Full Time

Location: Cumbernauld, G68 9HQ

Hours: 45 hours per week | between 06:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday – Looking for flexibility? We offer 40-hour per week option

Salary: between £45,653.40 – £48,578.40 pa DOE (based on 45hpw)

Are you a practical, hands-on engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working directly with customers? We’re looking for a skilled Field / Contract Service Engineer to maintain and repair heavy commercial vehicles both on-site and at customer locations.

What you’ll be doing

• Servicing, repairing, and fault‑finding on chassis, bodies, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and ensuring full compliance with safety standards
• Working independently in the field and on customer premises
• Managing contract maintenance, call‑outs, and breakdown support
• Completing job documentation and compliance paperwork accurately

What we’re looking for

• Time‑served HGV commercial vehicle engineer (NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent)
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Experience working in a field service or workshop environment
• Customer‑focused, professional, and self‑motivated
• Comfortable with travel, overtime, and call‑out cover
