Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support and care to students with special educational needs, tailoring your approach to their unique requirements
• Assist with the delivery of learning activities, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, to help students achieve their educational goals
• Collaborate with class teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement effective learning strategies and support plans
• Monitor and record students’ progress, adapting support as needed to ensure their ongoing development and success
• Promote the inclusion and participation of all students in classroom activities, fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
• Support students with personal care tasks, such as toileting, feeding, and mobility, while maintaining their dignity and independence
• Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge in special education

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a related field
• Proven experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or similar setting
• Thorough understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and effective behaviour management strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with diverse needs
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
