The Energy Transition Forum (ETF) provides a platform for energy leaders to engage in discussions about the transformative changes needed in the global energy system. It organizes biannual workshops, held alternately in Europe and the USA, fostering open dialogue, innovative thinking, and actionable solutions to enable a secure, affordable, and low-carbon energy transition. Founded in 2012 under the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the ETF became an independent organization in 2015 under the leadership of Miriam Maes. The forum’s success is built on principles of “total systems thinking” and the “dialogue method,” cultivating meaningful engagement and collaboration among like-minded participants from diverse professional backgrounds.
Role Description
We are looking for a Master’s or PhD student (or a flexible professional), to fill an interesting role, split in 2 parts:
a) Programme Associate of the Energy Transition Forum, an independent, C-suite international Energy & Climate Change think-tank, which the employer founded in 2012. The Energy Transition Forum’s international team organises under the employer’s Chairmanship; 2 Forum’s per year: 1 in the USA and 1 in Europe. b) Personal Assistant, assisting the female employer (based in London and Paris), who is a Non-Executive Board Director, serving on the Board of Directors of several large Europe-based Corporations.
The main responsibilities of the Programme Associate of the Energy Transition Forum (“ETF”) are to participate actively in the Forum’s programme definition, editing and content research. In addition, the Programme Associate manages the agenda and action plans of the weekly team-calls. She/ he also organizes the logistical aspects of the Energy Transition Forum’s events, including compiling participants lists, managing personal invitations and RSVPs, arranging venues, hotels, formal dinners, transportation, and catering. Finally, she/he modernizes and maintains the Energy Transition Forum’s website.
Successful candidates will need to:
An interest in Energy and Sustainability is desirable but not necessary.
The Personal Assistant part of the role involves diary and international travel management, general administration including finances, organization of meetings, email inbox management, corresponding with senior level professionals for the various company Boards, event planning, and some personal and ad hoc requests.
This self-employed role is remote based in the London area.
