We know that the biggest risk to the Council’s long term vision is the way that the pandemic and the subsequent cost of living crisis has led to even greater inequality and poverty, impacting those who were already disadvantaged the most. This has also exposed even more greatly the deep rooted structural and systemic racism in Hackney and in wider society. A refreshed Voluntary and Community Sector Strategy was approved by the Council earlier this year which will help us to tackle the unprecedented challenges we face, setting out how we will work with our communities, and our partners to address these. We are committed to making the transformational change needed, co-producing and co-designing solutions with those residents most impacted by racism and inequalities.
As one of the service’s Community Partnership Officers you will support the development and delivery of responses with our partners in the VCS, including supporting the delivery of the Council’s grant programme and the design of wider Council and partner investment in the sector. With a collaborative, supportive and inclusive approach to your work, you will build a high level of professional credibility, in order to work effectively with colleagues across the Council, Members and partner organisations.
You will draw on excellent strategic, analytic and policy research skills, sound project management approaches and will have good knowledge of co-production, culture change and transformation. You will need to have direct experience of working with the VCS and be flexible and adaptable, able to work on a number of different areas of work at any one time and work to a number of sponsors or senior officers.
