Application Support Analyst 🧑 💻 – Python/PowerShell, SQL & AWS 🛠 | £85,000 per annum 💷 | London 📍

An established Asset Manager is seeking a proactive Application Support Analyst to join their Front Office technology function. This is a hands-on role supporting business-critical trading and investment systems, where you’ll work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and cross-functional tech teams.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the availability and reliability of trading applications—handling incident resolution, improving system performance, and contributing to the evolution of internal tooling. Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and experience with AWS are essential.

🔍 Key Responsibilities:

• Provide front-line support for core trading and investment platforms
• Investigate and resolve real-time application issues, minimising disruption to the business
• Write and maintain Python scripts for automation and support tooling
• Manage and query databases using SQL; maintain awareness of data flows and schemas
• Collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and front office teams to maintain robust system performance
• Participate in platform upgrades, deployments, and change management processes
• Ensure best practices in monitoring, incident management, and operational support

🧠 What You’ll Bring:

• Proven experience in an Application Support role within financial services, ideally asset management or trading
• Strong Python scripting skills (essential)
• Solid SQL knowledge for data investigation and reporting
• Familiarity with AWS cloud-based environments
• A deep understanding of the full trade lifecycle and investment operations
• Background in supporting mission-critical systems across Windows and Linux environments
• Knowledge of market data platforms, messaging protocols (e.g., FIX), or API integrations is a plus
• Clear communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and documentation skills
• Experience working within ITIL frameworks and regulated environments

💼 The Offer:

• Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum
• Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in the office per week)
• Contract: Permanent
