Role Description

This is a part-time and flexible REMOTE role for an Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for supporting financial operations by preparing financial statements, managing bookkeeping tasks, and maintaining accounting systems. The role includes using SAGE 50 accounting software to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and handling related finance and accounting functions as required. Collaboration with team members to meet organizational efficiency goals is an integral part of this role.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Financial Statements and principles
• Proficiency in Accounting Software, SAGE and familiarity with various accounting tools
• Skills in Accounting, Finance, and handling financial transactions
• Experience in Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate records of financial activities
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial tasks
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and other productivity tools
• Familiarity with accounting in freight or logistics industries is a plus
• Relevant qualifications preferred
• Microsoft Office / Excel knowledge

Sage 50-Specific Skills

• Company File Management: Open, back up, and restore multiple company files safely.
• Multi-Company Reporting: Export reports from multiple companies and consolidate externally.
• User Roles & Security: Manage permissions so only authorised staff access specific companies.
• Efficiency Tools: Templates, memorised transactions, and batch posting for repetitive tasks across companies.
