About UsJob Title: Access officerSalary Range: £37,602 – £44,235 per annumPermanent – FulltimeLocation- Reed House, Frogmore, SW18 1HJAre you a confident communicator who thrives on problem-solving, building rapport and making a real difference to residents’ lives?If so, two exciting opportunities have been created to join a close-knit compliance team working to ensure the safety of the council’s housing stock.The team is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards, with a particular focus on the safety and well-being of our residents.We have made significant improvements in this area recently, but there is always room for improvement.We have identified that there is a small group of properties which, for a variety of reasons, have been difficult to access, and we need you to help us.About The RoleThis is a vital role ensuring that essential health and safety checks, particularly for electrical safety checks and annual gas servicing, are carried out in our tenanted homes. You will identify all properties where access has not been gained, contact those residents by a variety of means and ensure access is given.You will need great interpersonal skills, an ability to work on your own initiative and be comfortable in obtaining and analysing data.The role will require home visits and some out of hours working and collaboration with other teams and agencies will be necessary.Essential Qualifications, Skills And ExperienceNo particular qualifications are necessary for this role, but you will need the following skills and experience:A basic understanding of landlord requirements in relation to gas servicing and electrical safety certificates.Excellent communication skills and experience of dealing effectively with the public and contractors over the phone, in writing and face to face.Experience of using and interrogating various IT systems, including Microsoft Office, and an ability to develop these skills further.The ability to interrogate date to provide regular written reports.Indicative Recruitment TimelineClosing Date: Sunday 24th May 2026Shortlisting Date: WC 25th May 2026Interview Date: TBCTest/Presentation: A written test will form part of the interview process.
