Role Description

Linacre College seeks a full-time Academic Registrar for maternity cover in Oxford. The Academic Registrar is responsible for operational leadership across all aspects of academic administration relating to students and fellows at Linacre. They will champion the student experience, ensuring a smooth journey from admission to graduation.

Person Specification – Essential Criteria

• Significant experience in academic administration and an understanding of the student lifecycle within the higher education sector or similar experience.
• Demonstrable experience in managing a team, developing the skills and capabilities of team members and leading administrative functions to achieve objectives.
• Proven experience of providing high-quality services and setting service standards in line with maintaining and improving offer-holder and student experience, or equivalent examples.
• Proven experience of identifying and resolving complex problems creatively and working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of seniority across different departments (internal and external to the College) to mitigate these.
• Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve systems and efficiency and manage complex projects or change initiatives as required.
• Proven experience of handling multifaceted and sensitive student casework to support the wellbeing of students, or equivalent situations, including deciding when to respond directly and when to refer to additional colleagues for support.
• Established evidence of the ability to conduct analysis and interpret data to inform decisions and contribute to the development and operationalisation of strategy and policy review.
• A sound understanding of the principles underpinning legislative requirements relating to equality, disability, data protection and freedom of information.
• Understanding of budgeting, planning, and resource allocation including planning for future needs in relation to data analysis and strategic priorities.
• High proficiency in database management, Microsoft Office, and administrative tools and proven ability to explain these and similar systems to others.
