The Four Provinces Pub is a lively and welcoming Irish pub in the heart of Coventry. Family-owned and proudly operating for over 50 years, we are an independent venue free of brewery tie, giving us the flexibility to offer a range of drinks alongside great food and a warm, community-focused atmosphere. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service and creating a memorable experience for every guest.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of the pub. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth operations, maintain high standards, and lead the team to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in all aspects of pub operations
- Lead, motivate, and develop the front-of-house team
- Ensure outstanding customer service at all times
- Assist with staff training, scheduling, and performance management
- Manage stock control, ordering, and inventory
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and licensing regulations
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally
- Step in to manage shifts and oversee service when required
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within hospitality
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- A hands-on, proactive approach with a positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure
- Good understanding of stock management and financial controls
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
