About The Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join a well-established accountancy practice based in Torquay, Devon. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with payroll experience to become part of a friendly and professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the payroll process for approximately 300 clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions. The position involves handling weekly and monthly payroll calculations, producing wage slips, and addressing client queries directly. The firm promotes a supportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development, including funded qualifications and training. Initially, the role requires in-office attendance five days a week during the probation period, with hybrid working options available thereafter, although most team members prefer to work from the office.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a payroll administrator or in a similar role, with a proven track record of managing high-volume payroll processing. Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential, along with excellent organizational skills. Candidates should be familiar with calculating weekly or monthly payroll, handling tax and pension contributions, and producing payslips. A good understanding of payroll regulations and compliance is desirable. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members, demonstrating professionalism and problem-solving skills. Relevant qualifications in payroll, finance, or accountancy will be advantageous but are not mandatory.
