We have a further two care homes in development in London.We are passionate about our people; we seek out those who have a true vocation for care or hospitality.About The OpportunityAs a BANK Household Carer (Nights/Days), you will be responsible for:To support the Nurse and Household Care Lead in delivering the highest standards of person-centred care to individuals who call a KYN residence their home whilst preserving their dignity, respect, and wellbeingTo understand personal care planning and taking responsibility for all aspects of care e.g. infection control, moving and handling trainingTo ensure the highest standard of individualised person-centred care and attention is given to residents in the homeTo ensure residents are treated with dignity, privacy, and respect at all timesTo promote residents’ independence and respect their choices and preferences as reflected in their care plan and through daily conversationsTo assist residents with their personal care for example, washing, dressing and assistance to use the toilet according to their individual abilities and care needsTo undertake minor medical duties which may include oral care, skin care (application of topical creams), catheter care and end of life careTo ensure along with your team that our residents’ medical, physical, social, and emotional needs are metUse of medical equipment, including hoists, commodes, profiling beds and slide sheetsTo create a nurturing environment where our residents and their family members feel loved, happy, safe, and secureTo ensure residents participate in any decisions about their care to promote an exceptional quality of life in a nurturing and beautiful environment To understand personal care planning, including signs and symptoms of infections; how to assist with incontinence; awareness and reporting of swallowing difficultiesTo support residents at mealtimes; particularly those who require assistanceTo encourage residents to participate in recreational activities and help provide physical and mental stimulationTo help, support and develop new and less experienced Household CarersTo attend clinical supervision sessions as arranged by the relevant Registered Nurse To maintain the confidentiality of information regarding residents, visitors, and team membersTo attend and actively participate in team meetingsTo issue a daily report to the person in charge at the end of each shift concerning the care delivered to your designated residents, noting any changesTo promptly communicate any concerns that have been raised whilst working with the residents to the appropriate member of the senior teamTo provide a ‘warm welcome’ to all new residents, new team members and all visitors and to familiarise them with the homeTo take responsibility for all aspects of care e.g., infection control, moving and handling trainingTo be responsible for the Health and Safety of self, other team members, residents and visitors under the Health and Safety regulationsTo promptly report any hazards or potential hazards to the person in charge or take other appropriate actions within the remit of your training and knowledgeTo attend all statutory training sessions and any other relevant training sessionsTo adhere to all KYN’s policies and procedures About YouYou will have experience of working in a Health and Social Care setting You will ideally have NVQ/QCF Diploma Level2/3 in Health and Social CareYou will be patient with the ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and diplomacyYou will be an effective team player who builds professional and trusting relationships with every member of the team, ensuring they feel valued You will have excellent attention to detail and an ability to anticipate problems before they ariseYou will have the ability to resolve complaints and investigate and manage incidents effectively and efficientlyYou will be a compassionate, empathetic, kind, and caring individual You will have the flexibility to meet work requirementsAbout Our Commitment To YouComplimentary meals, hot drinks, and snacks throughout your shift Access to the best-in-class equipment and technologyCustom-made uniform providedCompany contributory pension schemeTo find out more about KYN, our teams and values please visit www.kyn.co.uk/careersKYN is an equal opportunities employer.To be considered for this role you will have to provide proof of right to work in the UK and consent to an enhanced DBS check.
