Job Title: Chief Strategy Officer
I. Position Overview
The Chief Strategy Officer is responsible for formulating, evaluating, and executing the company’s long-term development strategies, helping the enterprise achieve sustainable growth and competitive advantage within a complex market environment. The Chief Strategy Officer typically reports directly to the CEO and collaborates closely with various business units.
II. Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Formulation
Analyze the macro-environment, industry trends, and competitive landscape
Formulate the company’s medium-to-long-term development strategies (10-15years)
Define business priorities and growth pathways
2. Strategic Execution & Implementation
Drive the implementation of strategies across various business units
Monitor the progress of strategic initiatives and ensure goal attainment
Coordinate cross-departmental resources
3. Market & Competitive Analysis
Continuously monitor competitor activities and dynamics
Identify market opportunities and potential risks
Provide data-driven insights and support for decision-making
4. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
Identify potential investment or acquisition opportunities
Participate in due diligence and transaction negotiations
Drive post-merger integration efforts
5. Business Innovation & Transformation
Drive the exploration of new business ventures and business model innovation
Participate in major initiatives such as digital transformation and organizational change
III. Job Requirements
Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field
MBA preferred
Work Experience
20 years of relevant experience (e.g., consulting, strategy, investment)
Experience at a management consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group) or in a strategic role within a large enterprise is preferred
