Role Description

This is a full-time remote working position with some site/office working for the Information Technology Delivery Manager. The candidate could be based UK wide, but majority of our vendors are south of England based, whilst our site locations are UK wide. As IT Delivery Manager, you’ll be a key member of the business’s senior leadership team, accountable for all aspects of IT service delivery, infrastructure, and innovation across the company. You will lead internal support and development teams, oversee software portals, external vendors, manage systems hosted in AWS, and ensure the continued evolution, resilience and security of RAS SCI’s technology stack. You’ll also play a proactive role in shaping future capabilities through innovation, working closely with operational teams across multiple sites.

Remuneration

The remuneration for this role is plus £50,000, with the ability to offer a higher salary for candidates who bring exceptional experience and a strong track record in IT leadership and service delivery. This package also includes reimbursement of business-related expenses, acknowledging the travel and engagement required across operational sites and vendor locations. This structure ensures the role remains competitive while rewarding the depth of expertise and strategic value the position brings to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operational Management

• Act as a senior leader in the business, collaborating with other department heads on business-wide strategic and operational decisions and ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate business goals into clear technology priorities.
• Lead and develop the 1st Line Support team, ensuring customer-focused, SLA-driven service via the Jira helpdesk.
• Line-manage SQL developers, ensuring performance, availability and reliability of data-driven systems.
• Oversee the Data Processing team via its team lead, ensuring that audit and operational data is processed with speed and accuracy.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Serve as a driver of technology innovation, constantly reviewing and proposing improvements to hardware, systems, tools, and workflows that add value to the business and its customers.
• Regularly visit operational sites and engage directly with end users and field teams to understand pain points, gather feedback, and develop real-world solutions.
• Identify and trial new hardware, platforms, integrations, or automations that improve efficiency, scalability, or data visibility across the business.
• Lead the development and integration of AI‑driven systems and processes, exploring opportunities to automate workflows, enhance data insights, and drive innovation across the business.

System & Platform Administration

• Administer and manage Microsoft 365 (M365) including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, security and licensing.
• Manage internal support systems and change requests via Jira, ensuring a structured, auditable approach to change and problem management.
• Oversee desktop support and hardware lifecycle, ensuring devices are secured, maintained and compliant.
• Proficiency in project and programme delivery methodologies (Agile, Kanban, or ITIL project workflows), ensuring successful delivery of cross‑functional technology initiatives.

Infrastructure & Vendor Oversight

• Collaborate with MSPs to manage AWS-hosted infrastructure, including servers, backups, scaling, and disaster recovery processes including cloud and on-site.
• Oversee administration and performance of M65 systems, ensuring stability and support for auditing processes.
• Experienced in negotiating commercial contracts, evaluating third-party vendors, ensuring contracts, SLA’s and operational and financial performance across MSPs and software suppliers are performance managed and maintained.

Financial Control & Procurement

• Manage the IT budget, producing forecasts, monitoring spend, and tracking return on technology investments.
• Own the procurement process for IT hardware, software and licences, including supplier management and raising POs.
• Lead asset tracking and renewal planning to ensure smooth technology operations.

Incident Management & Escalation

• Own the out-of-hours escalation process, coordinating resolution of urgent incidents and ensuring continuity of service.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and ensure root cause analysis leads to service improvements.
• Enforce ITIL-aligned change management processes across systems.

Strategic Planning & Reporting

• Align IT delivery with broader business goals through regular reporting to the Director of Supply Chain.
• Track and report on KPIs including helpdesk volumes, incident resolution times, infrastructure uptime, and project delivery milestones driving continuous service improvements across teams and systems.
• Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of IT delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an IT Manager, IT Delivery Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Experience managing support teams, technical developers, and third-party partners in a hybrid or remote environment.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, M365 administration, SQL, and Jira Service Management.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver innovation and translate field-level feedback into viable, cost-effective technology solutions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Sound understanding of IT financial management, including budgeting, procurement and licensing.
• Willingness to travel regularly to operational sites across the UK and potentially Europe.
• Proven ability to meet with clients directly, building strong relationships and translating their operational needs into practical, high‑value technical solutions.
• Strong capability in managing cybersecurity posture, including identity management, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and aligning with frameworks such as ISO27001 and GDPR.

Desirable Skills

• Background in retail, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience managing mobile and field‑based technology ecosystems, ensuring high availability, security, and usability for distributed workforces.
• Familiarity with MSPs, offshore or outsourced development, and cloud-native architectures.
• Working knowledge of compliance frameworks including GDPR and ISO27001.
