£50,000 – £60,000 pa, Full time, Remote (UK)
The company
LeadDev is where the world’s best engineering leaders come to think, learn and connect. We run industry-leading conferences, publish original research, and produce content that shapes how engineering leadership is practised globally. We are a small, remote, high-performing team – and our technology is growing with us. We are passionate about diversity and inclusion, not just inside our team, but also in the content that we publish.
The opportunity
Over the last three months, we have built internal AI infrastructure from scratch: MCP servers, a structured knowledge base, automated workflows on Google Cloud. And we are just getting started.
We are looking for someone to own the systems and data that keep this business running – and make them significantly better.
This is not a traditional IT role. It is for someone who is genuinely passionate with removing the friction that stops people doing their best work. Someone who, when they see a manual process, wants to understand why it exists and then permanently remove it. Someone who thinks in systems, cares about the people around them, and has the technical range to act on both.
You will work closely with our founder on technical strategy, own the coherence of our full systems estate, and play a central role in shaping how we use AI and automation as the business scales.
What you will own
This role might be for you if…
You have come up through a business analyst or operations background, and you’ve spent time identifying what needs to change, and now you want the scope to actually own the fix. This role gives you both the insight and the implementation.
Or you have come up through a technical track, and what energises you is not the technology itself but using it to make a business work better. You find pure technical roles too narrow. This one will not be.
In either case: you are someone who gets genuine satisfaction from making other people’s working lives smoother. You notice the small frictions. You are not satisfied until they are permanently gone.
What we are looking for
Must have:
Nice to have:
We are committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and actively encourage candidates who might not tick every box to apply.
The role in practice
Remote-first, with one to two days a month in London – one of which is a whole-team day.
You will work semi-independently: direction set with the founder, execution yours. There is real scope here, a close working relationship at the top of the business, and the genuine opportunity to shape something that is still being built.
