National Grid is hiring a Release Train Engineer on a permanent basis. This position is based in Warwick. You will also have the opportunity to work from our co-working space in London. This role is designated as hybrid, with an expectation of 4-5 days per month in the office. Requirements may vary based on business needs and company policy.
About The Role
As Release Train Engineer, you’ll manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanban, along with establishing and communicating the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs). You’ll facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events, as well as facilitating the PI planning event.
You’ll also assist in tracking the execution of features and capabilities, facilitate the periodic synchronization events, including the ART sync, assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary. You’ll work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment and improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
