We’re looking for a commercially minded and detail-driven Operations Management Accountant to help us deliver transparent, data-led energy management services across our portfolio. In this role, you’ll take ownership of financial tracking, client billing, and performance reporting, while supporting budgeting and tariff modelling.You’ll play a key role in ensuring our clients understand exactly how their heat network is performing, financially and operationally, and work closely with internal teams and service providers to maintain accuracy and insight. Confident communication with the ESCo Board is essential, as you’ll be expected to raise financial risks or opportunities and contribute to the strategic oversight of our contracts.Duties And ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & ReportingTrack and reconcile plantroom operational costs (e.g. energy, maintenance, repairs).Produce monthly profit & loss statements and balance sheets for each scheme.Manage accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.Ensure all ESCo cashbooks are up-to-dateEnsure all relevant invoices, costs, and data are logged accurately against the correct scheme.Develop dashboards or spreadsheet models for contract tracking and internal reporting.Prepare clear, client-facing financial reports.Present monthly or quarterly financial reports to clients (virtually or in person).Confidently communicate financial findings, concerns, or risks to the ESCo Board, including supporting data and clear recommendationsProvide clients with VAT ReportsBudgeting, Forecasting & Commercial AnalysisSupport client budgeting and forecasting through proposed tariffs.Model the financial impact of proposed maintenance activities or capital improvements.Contribute to long-term financial planning and strategy for ESCo contracts.Calculate and track KPIs (e.g. Scheme Surplus / Heat Network Efficiency / Meter Health)Monitor contract-level financial performance and highlight underperforming areas.Identify trends or inefficiencies that could drive cost savings or revenue opportunities.Benchmark performance across sites and provide insights to improve service delivery or pricing structures.Operational Support & CoordinationLiaise with service providers to confirm costed works and schedules.Coordinate with internal teams to capture maintenance data for reporting.Ensure planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules and reactive works are reflected in cost reporting.Monitor service level agreement (SLA) compliance across contracts and contribute to performance metrics.Work with operational staff to improve cost control and financial visibility of day-to-day services.Assist with the onboarding of new sites or contracts from a financial perspective.Client Billing & SupportCoordinate client invoicing and ensure accurate billing for utility recharges, services, and maintenance works.Support client queries related to costs, billing, or site performance. (B2B)Assist in producing documentation for client reviews, audits, or contract renewals.Support contract reviews by providing insights into site-level financial performance.Governance, Systems & Process ImprovementEnsure compliance with financial controls and procurement procedures.Work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and service delivery teams.Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.Location and working hours:37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30Office location: Moorgate, London (WeWork)Flexibility to work from home as agreed with line managerAttendance at monthly ESCo Manager meetings held in LondonRequired Skills And AttributesBroad experience in an accounting, finance analyst, or operations finance role (management accounting bias)Comfortable working in or alongside operations, maintenance, energy, or facilities managementAdvanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, dashboards)Strong attention to detail and continuous improvement mindsetConfident working independently as well as contributing to collaborative improvementsExperience with financial systems (e.g. Xero/ Sage) and/or CAFM tools (e.g. BigChange) preferredBenefitsSalary: Up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experienceHoliday Allowance: 25 days of holiday per year, plus English bank and public holidays, plus an additional day of Birthday leave.Pension Scheme: Employer pension contribution matched at 4%.Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): Free, confidential support available for personal and professional challenges.Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme: “DO RIGHT WITH INSITE” provides up to 2 paid days off per year for volunteering with company-led initiatives.
