We currently advise on over ~£200 billion of assets for a diverse client base, providing full investment consulting services to DB pension trustees and sponsors across a wide variety of business and industry sectors, as well as local government pension schemes and other public sector clients.We’re looking for an Investment Associate Consultant to provide high quality investment advice in a professional and efficient manner. As an Associate Consultant, you’ll support our lead Consultants on client teams, coordinating workflow, owning project management, and delivering pieces of advice from start to finish.The role includes drafting client advice across a wide range of topics including investment strategy and structure, investment markets, risk management, asset managers, responsible investment and governance, as well as checking the work of investment analysts within your client teams.*We are open to considering candidates on a part time or full-time basis*What will your role look like?You’ll work closely with our Investment Consultants to help deliver clear, practical advice to trustee (private sector and local government) and corporate clients, building trusted relationships and helping client teams run smoothly. You’ll combine strong technical capability with a collaborative approach — bringing structure, momentum and confidence to the work you deliver.Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:Supporting Investment Consultants to provide advice to trustee (private sector and local government) and corporate clients on a wide range of issuesDrafting standard and bespoke advice for review by consultants across a range of investment topicsDelivering reports and advice to clients at meetings, where requiredActing as a key point of contact for clients and other stakeholdersCoordinating business-as-usual workflow and smaller projects across client teamsDrafting annual budgets, monthly billing and scopes of work for clientsCoaching and mentoring analysts within client teams and the wider investment teamContributing to business development and client prospecting activitiesBuilding the profile of the Investment team and Firm through networking and thought leadershipBuilding strong links across the business to support cross-sellingAdhering to core business and compliance requirementsParticipating in relevant training sessions and internal groupsTo enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:Strong technical investment knowledge and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsA flexible, proactive and innovative approach to problem solvingA working style aligned to our values – friendly, partnering, straightforward and confidentStrong organisational skills and ability to manage competing prioritiesThe ability to work collaboratively across diverse teamsRelevant experience in investment consultancy, fund management or a related investment roleA degree in a numerate discipline such as maths or economics (or equivalent)Strong IT skills, particularly across Microsoft OfficeAn understanding of UK DB pension schemes, asset classes and legislative frameworksCommercial awareness of the pensions and employee benefits market*Please note that as part of the recruitment process for this opportunity, candidates will be asked to deliver a short presentation*We would also encourage applications from candidates who perhaps do not possess all the attributes and experience listed above but are competent with the majority and would be able to quickly develop the additional skills and experience required in post with our full support.
