Medical Records Officer (Bank)

Salary £12.53 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Medical Records Officer to join their team of staff in the Medical Records department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Evening / night shifts will be required to be worked by the role holder.

Duties Of This Role Include

• Prepare patient records for upcoming clinics, admissions, investigations, and procedures.
• Ensure all required documentation (e.g., consent forms, test results, referral letters) is accurately filed and accessible for clinical teams.
• Locate and retrieve patient notes efficiently when requested by clinical, admin, or legal teams.
• Log and track movement of physical records across departments using tracking systems.
• Handle patient information with the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion.
• Comply with GDPR, Caldicott principles, and local information governance policies.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• Previous administrative experience, ideally in a healthcare or records-focused role.
• Good understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and information governance.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
• Comfortable working with IT systems and databases.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and respectful manner.
