We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate individual to join our team as a Single Point of Contact Hub (SPOCH) Patient Navigator.This role plays a key part in improving the experience of patients referred as urgent suspected cancer, or those newly diagnosed. You will support patients as they move through their diagnostic and treatment pathways, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and connected at every stage.As a Patient Navigator, you will help streamline the patient journey by: Supporting patients with appointment management Ensuring timely access to diagnostics, MDT discussions, clinics, and surgery Signposting patients to clinical advice and appropriate support services Providing clear information on their pathway and next steps Managing administrative aspects of allocated cancer pathways Sharing clinical and investigatory information, including arranging required specimens (microbiology/laboratory) Making “good news” calls to patients discharged from suspicion of cancer Completing prehabilitation screening for colorectal patientsYou will be at the forefront of shaping and developing this service, helping to embed efficient administrative processes and offering a highly valued point of contact for patients and their families.Working closely with the wider Cancer Services team, GPs and Advanced Nurse Practitioners who refer urgent suspected cancer patients, you will provide support, information, and timely communication throughout the pathway.We Are Seeking Individuals Who CanUse initiative and exercise sound judgementMake decisions confidently and appropriately in a variety of situationsCommunicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and colleaguesWork flexibly, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamYou must have strong administrative and clerical skills and excellent communications skills.Experience in roles involving direct patient contact is desirable.For further information please contact Coralie Eglington on 07824446042 or email coralie.eglington2@nhs.scotAs from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata.
