Main duties of the job
The successful postholder will be responsible for the proactive management of waiting lists and work queues, ensuring patients are scheduled efficiently and in line with Trust and national targets, including RTT and cancer pathways. You will coordinate and book theatre lists for surgeons across a range of specialities, working closely with clinical teams to maximise utilisation and ensure effective use of capacity.
The role requires regular liaison with consultants, clinical teams, and other key stakeholders to support the smooth running of elective and diagnostic services. You will also be a key point of contact for patients, providing clear, compassionate, and timely communication throughout their pathway.
A strong focus on delivering a high standard of customer service is essential, ensuring a professional and supportive experience for both patients and colleagues. The postholder will be expected to work accurately under pressure, prioritise workloads effectively, and contribute to continuous service improvement.
