Vice President of Project Operations
Position Overview
The Vice President of Project Operations is responsible for overseeing project delivery, operational coordination, process management, and business execution activities across the organisation.
This role focuses on establishing efficient operational processes, improving project delivery standards, enhancing resource utilisation, and supporting business growth through effective execution and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Project Operations Management
Develop and maintain project operation processes and execution standards.
Support the successful delivery of projects and business initiatives.
Monitor project progress, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
Improve project delivery efficiency and consistency.
Resource Planning and Coordination
Coordinate resource allocation across projects and departments.
Support workforce planning and operational scheduling.
Improve utilisation of personnel, systems, and operational resources.
Monitor operational costs and support budget management activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and other teams.
Promote effective communication and collaboration across departments.
Support alignment of project priorities and operational activities.
Facilitate issue resolution and operational coordination.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Develop operational performance measurements and reporting processes.
Monitor project performance, productivity, and service quality.
Prepare operational reports and business updates.
Support data-driven decision-making through performance analysis.
Team Development
Lead and support project operations teams.
Provide coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
Promote a collaborative and results-oriented working environment.
Support the development of future operational leaders.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and business processes.
Implement practical solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Promote continuous improvement across project operations.
Support the adoption of new tools and technologies where appropriate.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Project Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
MBA preferred.
Relevant project or operations certifications preferred.
Professional Experience
More than 15 years of experience in project management, operations management, or business leadership roles.
At least 10 years of experience leading project teams or operational functions.
Experience managing cross-functional projects and business improvement initiatives.
Experience within international business environments is advantageous.
