We are seeking two motivated and knowledgeable individuals to provide education and training for the Optimal Hospital Flow Framework (OHFF). Working under the Programme Director, you will champion best practice in patient flow, support staff across all professions, and help embed person‑centred improvements across the Health Board.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will provide hands‑on training, analyse current patient‑flow processes, and work with clinical teams to identify, test and implement improvements. You will help staff understand the reasons behind service change, encourage ownership of new ways of working, and ensure that training directly supports national targets and local priorities. You will also evaluate the impact of training, support continuous improvement, and contribute to national learning events where required.

Strong communication skills are essential, as you will liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, interpret complex information, and produce clear reports, data analysis and presentations. You will maintain accurate training records, support project governance, and represent the OHFF team professionally at meetings and events.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

• Assume the role of training champion, facilitating and promoting the OHFF principles and associated activities while providing support to sustain momentum and person-centred approach to care and best practices.
• Provide support to individuals and all staff groups, through ‘in practice’ teaching sessions.
• Work in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure that training is delivered to enable service improvements to be implemented to meet national targets.
• Identify and evaluate areas of potential service improvement within patient flow, within the organisation
• Ensure ownership of the improvement work is adopted by the clinical teams and focus on whole systems approaches designed to ensure patients are placed at the centre of the healthcare delivery system
• Enable and encourage others to understand and appreciate the influences on services and the reasons why improvements are being made
• Work with clinical teams, liaising with directorate managers in analysing present processes for patient flow, measuring baseline performance, identifying and testing out improvements, quantifying the benefits of improvement work and moving the work forward into every day working practices.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

• First degree or equivalent level of work experience and knowledge Specialist knowledge in Improvement methodology
• Management qualification to postgraduate Diploma Level or equivalent experience

Desirable criteria

• Masters
• Project Management qualification
• Evidence of commitment to on-going continual professional development
• Training in service improvement tools and statistical analysis

Experience

Essential criteria

• Experience of working across the NHS and wider organisations.
• Experience of working and engaging with staff at all levels in a high volume transactional environment
• Experience and knowledge of quality systems and how to apply them in healthcare
• Demonstrate evidence of successful multi-disciplinary team working
• Demonstrate evidence of organisational and personal learning and change from patient improvement programmes
• Experience of using and managing information to determine priorities
• Experience of working in a training environment.
• Experience of successfully working with a wide range of groups to achieve a common aim, where individuals or groups may be challenging, change resistant, antagonistic or even hostile.
• Experience of communication and presenting skills on a 1:1 basis and in large groups
