Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a TM44 Air Conditioning Inspector / commercial EPC Assessor. The role involves carrying out TM44 air conditioning inspections and non-domestic EPC assessments in line with current UK regulations and industry best practice. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and scheduling site visits, completing on-site surveys of HVAC and building services systems, collecting and validating technical data, and preparing compliant inspection and EPC certificates using DesignBuilder software. The role also includes advising clients on practical energy efficiency improvements, maintaining accurate records and evidence files, and coordinating with internal colleagues and clients to meet tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be expected to stay current with regulatory changes, follow ENCOM’s quality management procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement of assessment methodologies and templates.
Qualifications

• Relevant professional accreditation as a TM44 Air Conditioning Inspector and Non-Domestic Energy Assessor (e.g., Levels 3/4/5) with up-to-date registration on an approved accreditation scheme.
• Strong technical skills in surveying and assessing HVAC systems and building fabric, including understanding of air conditioning plant, controls, ventilation, and energy performance fundamentals.
• Proficiency with energy assessment, EPC, and TM44 reporting software, along with solid general IT skills (e.g., MS Office, digital data capture tools, online portals).
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and report-writing skills, with the ability to interpret regulations and convert survey findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Effective planning, time management, and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple assessments, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical findings in accessible language to non-specialist stakeholders.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site inspections across the UK, as required (travel expenses in line with company policy).
• Experience in energy compliance, building services engineering, facilities management, or a related field; a relevant technical or engineering qualification is advantageous.
