At GreenSpark Environmental, we are looking for a Temporary Finance Assistant to support the finance function, with primary responsibility for the Purchase Ledger and additional cover across sales ledger and credit control during periods of absence.
This role works closely with both finance and operational teams, helping to ensure robust financial controls, accurate processing, and effective communication with suppliers and customers.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Processing purchase invoices in the general ledger
- Matching invoices to approved purchase orders
- Chasing missing invoices and resolving discrepancies
- Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries
- Support compliance with purchasing processes, ensuring POs are correctly raised and approved
- Issue weekly supplier remittances
- Provide cover during periods of absence, including:
- Checking and processing sales invoices
- Issuing customer statements
- Supporting credit control and debt collection activities
- Monitor and manage the shared finance mailbox
- Support purchasing activities and wider Central Services teams on an ad‑hoc basis
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role
- Strong purchase ledger and invoice processing experience
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident using finance systems (SAGE 50 desirable) and Microsoft Office
- Organised, adaptable, and able to prioritise workload effectively
- Proactive, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
