Our Apprenticeship Scheme offers an exciting chance to work in a vibrant, supportive environment where no two days are the same. You’ll build valuable, transferable skills, connect with people from all backgrounds, and be part of a team that genuinely makes a difference across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Who We’re Looking For
Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council’s Youth Engagement and Participation Service (YEPS) is seeking to recruit an Apprentice Youth Worker to support the delivery of a high‑quality service for young people across the county.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working with young people and is keen to start a career in Youth Work. You don’t need lots of experience. What matters most is your attitude, your willingness to learn, and your commitment to supporting young people to achieve their potential.
You will enjoy meeting new people, trying new things and getting involved in activities in a variety of settings. You’ll be someone who is approachable, reliable, and confident enough to engage with young people in a positive and professional way.
The successful candidate will assist with the planning, delivery and evaluation of a programme of youth work activities, developed in consultation with young people to ensure their needs and interests shape the offer.
This role involves supporting activities across a range of settings, including evenings and weekends, and requires someone who is confident in engaging young people, building positive relationships, and contributing to the development of digital youth work within RCT.
Guided by the YEPS Team Manager, the post holder will help to prepare, deliver and review learning activities designed to strengthen young people’s resilience and wellbeing. A commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and high standards of professional practice is essential.
What Will You Study?
All Apprentices will be supported to gain a Level 2 and Level 3 in Youth & Community qualifications as well as other Youth Work related training.
What will you be paid?
This is a fixed term post for a two-year period, starting in September 2026.
