The post holder will provide a key contact point for the Commercial Waste Business. Meeting the needs of customers by providing excellent customer service and aiming to resolve queries at the first point of contact. This will include dealing with requests for service, arranging bin deliveries, dealing with missed collections and complaints, explaining policy and procedures and signposting to other services. There will also be some basic invoicing related tasks.
The use of corporate IT systems and databases will be an integral part of this role. Experience of working with data and in a fast-paced environment would be advantageous.
The postholder will be involved in supporting all areas of Environmental Services and play a key role in supporting the delivery of vital frontline services.
Whilst Waste, Environment or Local Government experience is welcomed, it is realised that many other roles have transferable skill sets. So, if you feel you can demonstrate transferable skills and meet the essential criteria, we want to hear from you.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
