Our portfolio spans residential, commercial, education, healthcare and mixed-use developments, combining technical expertise with a collaborative and integrity-led approach.Our UK business continues to grow, supported by a strong pipeline of work and long-standing client relationships.The RoleAs part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Technical Bid Writer / Proposal Writer to support the preparation of compelling, high-quality tender submissions that reflect our technical capability and commitment to excellence.Working closely with operational and technical teams across the business, you will develop clear, compliant and persuasive responses for PQQs, ITTs and tender submissions. The role will play a key part in strengthening the quality and competitiveness of our bids across education, government, residential, commercial and technically complex environments such as data centres, while continuing to support private sector tenders.You will be comfortable working across different procurement routes and understand the nuances of public sector evaluation criteria and quality-weighted submissions. Highly organised and confident in a technical environment, you will collaborate with and constructively challenge Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to produce strong, evidence-based responses.Key Duties And ResponsibilitiesBid & Tender DevelopmentLead the preparation and writing of high-quality responses for PQQs, ITTs and tender submissionsAnalyse client requirements, scoring criteria and evaluation methodology to develop structured answer plansEnsure responses are compliant, concise and aligned to agreed win themes and value propositionsWork closely with Directors, Project Teams and technical specialists to gather accurate and relevant informationChallenge and refine content provided by SMEs to strengthen clarity, impact and competitivenessCoordinate technical content, case studies and supporting evidenceManage bid timelines, ensuring submissions are completed accurately and on programmePrepare submissions for public sector frameworks, Local Authority tenders, education and government projects, alongside private residential and commercial schemesInterpret and respond to public procurement requirements, including quality-weighted submissions and compliance-led documentationContent & Knowledge ManagementMaintain and develop a library of standard responses, case studies and project summariesCapture value-add initiatives and lessons learned from live and completed projectsSupport the continuous improvement of bid processes and templatesAssist with marketing collateral, project profiles and capability statements where requiredCollaboration & QualityParticipate in bid workshops and review sessionsApply rigorous quality control and proofreading to ensure consistency and high standardsWork with Marketing support to develop clear, well-structured and engaging submission documentsContribute insight relating to clients, competitors and frameworksSkills & Experience RequiredExperience contributing to bids within the construction sector, particularly where quality submissions are heavily weightedExposure to public sector procurement (e.g. education, government bodies, Local Authorities or framework agreements), with an understanding of compliance-driven and quality-evaluated tender processesExperience supporting private sector residential or commercial submissionsThe ability to interpret complex or technical information and translate it into clear, persuasive and well-structured responsesStrong writing, editing and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detailA solid understanding of UK procurement processes and tender evaluation methodologiesConfidence engaging senior stakeholders and project teams to extract the right level of detailStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectivelyProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word essential); experience with Adobe InDesign desirableExperience using collaborative platforms such as SharePoint and MS TeamsWhat JJ Rhatigan Can Offer YouOpportunities to work on high-profile UK projectsCompetitive salary and benefits packageClear career progression and ongoing training and professional developmentJJ Rhatigan & Company is an equal opportunities employer.
